Dear International Students and English-Speaking Japanese Students,
Greetings from the Ritsumeikan University BKC International Center.
Today it’s our pleasure to announce the following project organized by the Lake Biwa University Regional Consortium, geared towards international and Japanese students studying in Shiga. This is a rare opportunity to meet and closely interact with members of the local community, gain a deep understanding of the Kusatsu area, and perhaps even propose ideas leading to the improvement of the city for the international community. ・Historical heritage of the former inn town, Kusatsu farmer’s market

【Program2-2】Experience Kusatsu (Fieldwork・Exchange)
・Visit to the redeveloped former Kusatsu River site, student exchange
【Program3】Kusatsu’s Future (Presentation・Discussion)
・Share and discuss ideas and opinions of what makes for a foreign-student-friendly town and how to breathe new life into Kusatsu
This project geared towards you – an international student studying in Shiga (or English-speaking Japanese student studying in Shiga) - aims to deepen your understanding of Kusatsu’s past and present structural issues, allow you to reflect upon the significance of studying in Shiga Prefecture, and to create an opportunity for you and your fellow students to interact with the local community.

※Participation fee:free(participation required both days)
※Application deadline:December 5 (Tue)23:59
※Capacity:30 students(20 international students, 10 Japanese students as supporters)
※Please note that we will conduct a screening if the number of applicants exceeds the capacity. In any case, all applicants will be notified of whether or not they may participate, and those granted permission will be informed of the details of the program.
